Let’s Ensure the Fit
Here’s how you can made sure your new appliances are the right fit for you and your home.
- Draw a diagram of your home with measurements of the doorways and space for your appliances. You must have at least 28-30” width at the narrowest point.
- Measure the width, height and depth of the opening where your new appliances will be installed. Sometimes the space from an upper cupboard to the wall and the countertop to the wall may differ. Measure both, just in case.
- Confirm you have the correct venting and connections in place. Power, side where the air vents exist and the drain hose for your washer – and include all on your diagram. Allow 4-6" space behind the machines for connections.
- Know your home’s capabilities: Confirm 110V grounded 3 -prong electrical outlet, water supply (hot and cold), drain hose, and a clean, solid and level floor surface. Determine if your potential dryer might need a 220V grounded connection instead of the standard 110V that runs through most homes. Confirm where venting is required (right, left or rear). You may need a side vent kit to reduce venting requirements.

- Double-check your space: we can’t stress this enough. Do your doorways, elevators and stairway corners have enough room for your new appliances to pass through?
- Walk the delivery path and determine any potential hazards, like extension cords or wall hangings that will need to be removed, so the delivery team can safely transport your new appliance to you.
