You can arrange for a qualified expert to install your OTR Microwave, or we would be happy to recommend an expert that we trust. We call this option our “Install Only” option. To prepare for the technician to install your new microwave, you’ll need to:
- Empty your existing microwave
- Ensure your existing microwave is disconnected and removed. This is important as an installer can refuse to complete your installation of your microwave if the site isn’t ready for your new appliance.
- Make a plan for your old microwave
You’ll need to ensure your existing microwave is recycled responsibly.
That’s no problem at all, we know things come up. Because your installation was booked with the third-party expert directly, please connect with them to reschedule.

When our installation partners arrive at your home, they inspect the site where your new microwave will be installed to determine it is ready. Sometimes, there might be additional work that needs to be done to make your home ready for the new microwave. If these situations arise, the installer will determine whether they can achieve the upgrades at the time, or whether they’ll need to make another time with you.
The following tasks are excluded from the installation cost:
- Recirculating kits (optional accessory required if you don’t wish to vent your OTR outside your home)
- Removal and disposal of your old unit unless you have purchased the OTR Install Plus service.
- Structural alterations or removal of cabinetry to accommodate new appliances
- Alterations to existing electrical configuration. Over-the-range microwaves require a dedicated 120-volt electrical receptacle outlet ("plug") which needs to be in place prior to installation.
- Ducting modifications including converting a rectangular vent to a round vent or vice versa.
- Previous model must be an OTR.
