Appliance Plus: Expertise + Installation

Partnering with locals to make your life easier

With Appliance Plus, you get the right appliance expert for the right job

As a family-owned business with over 50 years experience in appliances, we know that you need the right expert for the right job. For installing appliances like dishwashers and fridges with water lines into their new forever home, a qualified appliance installer gives more than peace of mind. At Trail Appliances, we partner with some of BC’s most renowned local appliance installers who we trust to ensure your new appliances are installed with the love and care they deserve.

Calling in the installation experts

We believe your appliances deserve the best possible care and attention. We have chosen to partner with some of the best third-party appliance installers in southern British Columbia to ensure your new pride and joy can be installed properly.

Dishwasher Installation

While it’s very possible to install a dishwasher yourself, we wouldn’t recommend it. Everyone at Trail Appliances has heard horror stories of water leaks from dishwashers that flooded whole homes or condo buildings. If that happens to you, and you installed it yourself, you may not be covered by insurance. So it’s always wise to get a qualified installer for peace of mind.

Working with qualified dishwasher installers

We have worked through a comprehensive vetting process to ensure the installers we recommend are the best in British Columbia. Our goal is to ensure that getting your new dishwasher home and ready-to-go as soon as possible is achievable.

Have questions about dishwasher installation?

I’ve heard great things about the Trail delivery team. Can they deliver my dishwasher?
Absolutely! We would be happy to deliver your dishwasher for you if you’d prefer.

I already have my dishwasher in my home. How can I get it installed, and what do I need to do to prepare?

You can arrange for a qualified expert to install your dishwasher, or we would be happy to recommend an expert that we trust. To prepare for the technician to install your new dishwasher, you’ll need to:

1- Empty your existing dishwasher

2- Ensure your existing dishwasher is disconnected and removed

This is important as an installer can refuse to complete your installation of your dishwasher if the site isn’t ready for your new appliance. If your existing dishwasher is integrated into your millwork (ie: “panel-ready”), you’ll need to remove the panel from your existing dishwasher so it can be attached to your new dishwasher.

3- Make a plan for your old dishwasher

You’ll need to ensure your existing dishwasher is recycled responsibly.

What happens if I need to reschedule my installation?
That’s no problem at all, we know things come up. Because your installation was booked with the third-party expert directly, please connect with them to reschedule.
What is excluded from my dishwasher installation?

When our installation partners arrive at your home, they inspect the site where your new dishwasher will be installed to determine it is ready. Sometimes, there might be additional work that needs to be done to make your home ready for the new dishwasher. If these situations arise, the installer will determine whether they can achieve the upgrades at the time, or whether they’ll need to make another time with you.

The following tasks are excluded from the installation cost:

1. Shut off valve/routing water and drain lines through the adjacent cabinet(s) other than the sink base

2. Extra-long drain hoses

3. Structural modifications and/or removal of cabinetry to accommodate your new dishwasher

4. Haul away and disposal of your old unit unless this service is purchased in cart

5. Electrical services

6. Required plumbing, beyond new shut-off valve installation/replacement

7. Costs of permits/additional plumbing/modifications to comply with British Columbia’s Building Codes

I already have my new fridge at my home. Can you arrange for someone to install just the water line?

Whether you collected your fridge from our warehouse, or our team delivered it, we’re glad your new fridge is already in its new forever home. We would be happy to recommend an expert that we trust, or you are welcome to arrange your own installer.

To prepare for the technician, you’ll need to:

Confirm with the installer if you have an existing fridge with a water line that needs disconnection.

This is important as the Trail delivery team are not able to help to disconnect a water line because of the risk of water leak. If you do not have a water line present where you are planning for your new fridge to go, you’ll need to arrange for a plumber to install the water line in advance.

If you haven’t moved your new fridge in place, you’ll need to before the installer arrives.

This is important as an installer can refuse to complete your installation of your fridge if the site isn’t ready for your new appliance.
